DR. Suneel K. Basra
Suneel K. Basra DPM, AACFAS
Suneel K. Basra, DPM, AACFAS, is the newest member of the Active Foot and Ankle Care family. Dr. Basra completed his undergraduate studies at New York University and went on to receive his doctorate from the New York College of Podiatric Medicine. He completed his three-year residency training at the renowned New York Methodist Hospital in Brooklyn, New York, where he also served as chief resident. As chief resident, Dr. Basra was chosen to be part of a surgical mission group to South America which performed numerous surgeries to correct congenital deformities including clubfoot, flatfoot and cerebral palsy. Dr. Basra has a great interest in teaching and continues to serve as a lecturer to the residents of New York Methodist Hospital.
Dr. Basra is experienced in all facets of foot and ankle care including reconstructive surgery, sports injuries, trauma, diabetic wound care and limb salvage, pediatric conditions such as flatfeet and orthotic intervention. He serves as a consulting physician to the athletic teams of Montclair State University. He is currently an associate of the American College of Foot and Surgeons and Board Qualified in Foot Surgery and Reconstructive Rearfoot/Ankle Surgery by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery. Dr. Basra is a member of the American Podiatric Medical Association and the New Jersey Podiatric Medical Society.
- Graduated from New York University in 2003 with honors, receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology
- Graduated from the New York College of Podiatric Medicine in 2007 with honors, receiving a Doctorate in Podiatric Medicine
- Completed a 3-year podiatric medicine & surgery residency, serving as chief resident at Methodist Hospital, Brooklyn, New York
- Member of the HERG (Health and Education Relief for Guyana) surgical mission group in 2009 to Georgetown, Guyana
- Associate, American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons
- Board Qualified in Foot Surgery as well as Reconstructive Rearfoot/Ankle Surgery
- Member of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons, American Podiatric Medical Association and New Jersey Podiatric Medical Society
